A family from Mount Merrion in Dublin is celebrating after their lottery syndicate won an astonishing €2.3 million, the jackpot prize itself.
Choosing to remain anonymous, a family spokesperson said that they didn’t believe it had really happened to start with, and it took them until they saw the cheque that was handed to them at National Lottery headquarters for the life-changing reality to finally sink in. Until that point, the family had suspicions that their win would turn out to be a prank.

One of the lottery syndicate members remembers how they felt when they saw the prize written down in front of them; “I’ve never seen so many zeros in my life; it looked more like a bank account number than real money.”

Wexford won €2 million on 15th October, and of course, the lottery syndicate won €2.3 million on 12th October.
